Case Study: Resiliency Upgrades for Plymouth Harbor LTC Facility, Sarasota Florida

In 2007, I developed a comprehensive study for Plymouth Harbor, a high rise senior living facility located on a barrier island on the west coast of Florida. Starting with a comprehensive Risk Assessment study, developed in collaboration with Sarasota County Emergency Management staff, we designed multiple phased projects to improve structural survivability and ensure resident safety, including impact-resistant windows, new emergency generators with two-week fuel supply, emergency food and potable water storage.

In addition, we worked with Plymouth Harbor management and staff to develop and document detailed contingency plans for multiple event types (flood, wind, utility disruption, civil unrest, etc.).
